Parque Estadual do Turvo - Reserva florestal com cerca de 17500 ha na região do Alto Uruguai. Nada menos que 300 espécies de aves já foram avistadas no local, o qual é conhecido por ser a área mais importante para preservação de espécies animais no Rio Grande do Sul. É, também, o último refúgio da onça-pintada e da anta no estado. Aves raras, como gavião-pato, pica-pau-de-cara-canela e pavó, são vistas com certa frequência no local; outras, como o gavião-de-penacho, o capitão-do-mato, a jacutinga e o tauató-pintado ocorrem, mas são bastante raras. Existem, ainda, relatos sobre a ocorrência do gavião-real (Harpia).

Parque Estadual do Turvo abriga uma das maiores cascatas do mundo: o Salto do
Yucumã. A queda situa-se no Rio Uruguai e tem cerca de 1,8 km de extensão.

região das Missões mantém cultua as históricas construções jesuítico-guaranís em seu
território. São Miguel das Missões preserva, em ruínas, a mais impressionante
memória da nação que antes estendia seu território também através da Argentina e
Paraguai. No
lado brasileiro, sete são as reduções daquela cultura.

Turvo state park - It is a forest reserve, with 17500 ha of native vegetation from Alto Uruguai region. There are about 300 species of birds in the area, which is known
to be the most relevant area for threatened animals in Rio Grande do Sul state. The place is also home of large mammals, as jaguar and tapir. Rare birds, as Black-and-white
Hawk-Eagle, Helmeted Woodpecker and Red-ruffed Fruitcrow are seen with some
frequency in the area; others, as Ornate Hawk-Eagle, Buff-bellied Puffbird, Black-fronted Piping-Guan and Gray-bellied Hawk are very rare. There are also reports about the presence of the Harpy Eagle.

Turvo state park is home of one of the most large watterfalls in
the world, known as Salto do Yucumã. The watterfall is in Uruguai River and has
about 1,8 km of extension.
Missões region - Only in Santo Ângelo - the main city of the region - there are records of 250 birds species, until now. Some beautifull birds, as the Peregrine Falcon, the Streamer-tailed Tyrant and the endangered Saffron-cowled Blackbird, can be found in the locality. In São Miguel das Missões we already found the rare Chestnut-eared Aracari and the southern South America endemic Red-spectacled Parrot.

Missões region still remains the buildings of Jesuits and Guarani indians in its ground. São Miguel das Missões preserves, in ruins, the most impressive memories of what was once a nation which extended its territories also along Argentina and Paraguay. In Brazilian side there area seven reductions of that culture.
